You have a lot of options! What kind of session should I book?

We get asked this question often and we understand your confusion! We go into much more detail below (so please read up!) but we’ll offer a general summary here.

If you’re a business individual looking for a very quick, simple headshot on white or grey for LinkedIn or for other general networking purposes, book our Business Express! It’s a simple, quick, no hassle headshot session and you’ll be in and out in under 15 minutes (with the option to add a 2nd look for just an extra 5 minutes and 50 dollars!). If, however, you’re looking for more “hands on help,” book a 1, 2 or 3 Look Headshot Session where we have more time to offer you our guidance, direction and play with different background and lighting options.

If you’re a business creative or creative professional of any kind - or maybe you just want a really unique portrait that will stand out! - then you’ll want to look into booking our Creative Portrait Session. Here we can get a little more “Editorial” with your lighting and background choices and we have more flexibility to take our time trying different options. Not to mention, we don’t have to stick to just shooting you from the chest up here - feel free to wear your favorite shoes because they might just show up in your photos!! This kind of session is perfect for business professionals looking for a shot that will help them stand out against the status quo and for actors who want something different for their IMDB pages and other marketing materials.

If you’re an actor looking for your first (or fifteenth!) headshot, then WeHo Headshots has got you covered with 1, 2 and 3 Look Headshot Packages to choose from, not to mention our Expert Express sessions for experienced actors who want to move through lots of looks very quickly. FAQs.

What is an “Expert Express” session?
In our expert express sessions, you will have 45 minutes to shoot as many looks as you can within the time frame. These sessions are budget-friendly and allow for unlimited wardrobe changes. We do not recommend booking this type of session if you have never had professional headshots taken. This session is best for seasoned professionals who have headshot experience. Since it is timed, we do not have as much flexibility to help you figure out creative poses and there is less time for hair and makeup changes during the shoot.

You must arrive camera ready with all beauty tools needed in order to maximize your time - our HMU Artists cannot be booked for these express sessions. Expert Express sessions are great for pros and low maintenance people who prefer to concentrate their time on 3 solid looks or get multiple looks (4-5 is normal) with minimal makeup adjustments/shaving.

What is a “Creative Portrait” session?
Creative portrait sessions simply allow us to get more inventive in the studio. We can explore lighting setups beyond the traditional headshot lighting, giving you a wide range of versatility within your professional portfolio. Clients love using these types of portraits on their website and IMDB profiles, for example. We’ve also had clients book these sessions for Press Releases and other important marketing materials. These types of portraits are also popular with families and expecting moms.

Where will we be shooting?
Our professional photography and production space, Linse Studios, is located centrally in the heart of Silverlake at 2520 West Sunset Boulevard. 

Why are you called WeHo Headshots if you’re in Silverlake?!
We started WeHo Headshots in 2018 out of our little home studio in West Hollywood and the name was, of course, fitting at that time. We have since expanded and outgrown our beloved first studio, but we wanted to keep the name to honor our roots. Never forget from whence you came!

How long does a shoot take?
Generally a headshot or portrait session will take up to 3.5 hours, including makeup, and up to 2 hours without makeup.

How do I pay?
We accept cash, credit cards, Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay and Venmo. Upon booking your appointment through our website, you will be automatically directed to payment options for your deposit.

How many final, retouched images do I get?
Depending on your choice of package, anywhere from 1 to 3+ final, retouched images will be sent to you via WeTransfer. 

How long until I get my images? 
Proofs will be sent within 2-3 business days via Pixieset. Final, retouched images will be sent within 4-5 business days from the time you make your selections through Pixieset via the provided link. Rush delivery is available for an added cost if you are on a deadline - please email us and let us know your specific needs and we will absolutely do our best to accommodate your situation.

How do I get my files?
Proofs will be sent digitally via a link emailed to you from Pixieset. Final images will be sent to you digitally via a WeTransfer download link or as an email attachment.

Do I get all of the images or raw files?
We do not distribute raw files nor do we hand out “all the files” in order to maintain quality control of our images. We will only deliver high resolution images that have been color graded and retouched by our team. We are happy, however, to offer our clients the option to purchase all unedited images in a low resolution, thumbnail size for a flat fee of $100. This size image works well for social media and other digital marketing needs.

Do I have to pay the full amount up front?
Due to our competitive pricing, we do require a non-refundable $175 deposit up front ($250 for Press Kit bookings). Business Express sessions must be paid in full in advance. Please see below for policies regarding cancellations and changes. 

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Your deposit is non-refundable. We have a “3 Business Days” change policy: by giving us 3 business days notice prior to your original shoot date, you may transfer your deposit one time and reschedule your shoot to another date within 60 days of your original shoot date. If you must cancel a 2nd time, your deposit will be forfeited. Please note that if a cancellation happens outside of the 72 hour window, you will forfeit your deposit and, if you have booked one of our hair and makeup artists, you must pay their fee for the shoot. Please consider your appointment as a booked job and take the necessary precautions that will enable you to follow through. The WeHo Headshots team appreciates your consideration!

How soon can I book my appointment?
With our online booking system, you can view our calendar and book your session at your convenience - however, we do ask you book at least 48hrs in advance. We cannot guarantee availability of a session within 48hrs. Furthermore, should you wish to book an appointment with one of our incredible Makeup & Grooming artists, we ask you give us at least 72hrs notice. If you are working on a short deadline, please email us to see if special arrangements can be made - we will always, always do our best to accommodate your needs whenever possible!

What if I’m not able to book a session that works with my schedule?
If you’re having trouble finding an available appointment that works for your schedule, please send us an email and tell us a little bit more about your situation. While we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to fix the issue, we will certainly do our best to help you out if we can!

Can we talk before the shoot?
Most questions can be answered here on the website, but should you have further questions please don’t hesitate to reach out via email. If you’d like to schedule a 30 minute FaceTime appointment prior to your session in order to go over your “looks” and clothing for your shoot, that can absolutely be arranged. More information can be found below under “rates.”

Can I have more than 3 final images?
Of course! Additional edited images can be purchased at $35 per image. The price goes down to $30 per image for 2-3 images, $25 per image for 4-5, and special batch pricing for 6+ images.

Can we shoot more than 3 looks?
Absolutely. Please email or call to discuss rates for extended studio and editing time. 

What if I’m not happy with my images? 
You will see your images during your shoot so that you are able to confirm the shoot has been to your full satisfaction before leaving the studio. However, the studio/photographer has no control over how others (agents, managers, publicists, friends, family, etc.) will react to your final images. If for any reason something causes you to doubt the marketability of any part of your session and you would like to add another “look or two,” the studio charges $150 for up to 30 minutes of studio time or $250 for up to 1 hour. This reshoot offer includes 1 fully edited image. Extra images will be an added cost. This offer is available for 30 days from the date of your original session. 

If I lose my downloaded pictures, how can I get them back?
We store your images for 1 year from the date of your shoot, but due to the high volume of shoots and our triple redundancy storage system, it is not feasible to store files longer than 1 year. After final delivery, a $35 data recovery fee will be applied should you misplace your files and need us to send them again.


The Shoot.

In general, a headshot or portrait session will run up to 3.5 hours, including makeup, so it is very important you show up on time so we can get the most out of your shoot! We will begin each session by looking over wardrobe selects you have brought with you and choosing favorites together. Due to the live-viewing feature you have full control over the session and know exactly what we have worked on by the time the shoot is done. We will review your entire shoot to make the final proof-selection which will then be sent to you via Pixieset within 3 business days and can be shared with agents & managers.

Once you have made your final selections, the retouching turnaround takes 5 business days. Please contact us should you need your images faster than the standard turnaround time - “rush” delivery is available for an extra fee.


Makeup & Grooming.

While not required, we highly recommend working with one of our amazing makeup artists for the best results. Our artists know exactly what products work best with the studio's lights & strobes and working with a professional leaves less room for error. Should you wish to use your own MUA, please be aware they will not be able to join you at the studio - studio time is reserved for our own MUAs only, but they are more than welcome to get you camera ready before you arrive.
We begin sessions with the most natural/clean look and add as we go along. Subtle changes in makeup and hair will make sure we stay true to YOU and your natural best. Booking with one of our artists will require a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold their time on top of your studio session deposit.


When working with our artists for headshot sessions, please come in with a clean face or minimal makeup and your hair ready. The Makeup artist will help you fine-tune your hair, watch for fly-a-ways etc but they do not do hair for headshot sessions!!


Should you choose to handle your own makeup, please come to the shoot ready to go. To start the session with the cleanest look, we suggest coming in with your 'daily look' as that's typically the most natural. Feel free to bring any styling products you might need to change up your hair in between looks - no products will be provided. 

Grooming.

Grooming is of course also available for men!
Although not required, a groomer can help you look your best for your session. Professional groomers make sure your skin is not going to be too shiny in the studio lights, they assist with the styling of your hair, etc.
However, if you have great skin and know exactly how you like your beard, scruff and hair to sit, etc. and you choose to handle your own grooming, please make sure to bring all the styling products and tools you need to get the job done - especially for the skin.
In general, to get the most out of your session, we recommend coming in with beard or scruff and then trim and shave as we go along.

The Studio.

Our studio is conveniently located in the bustling shopping and arts district of Silverlake. We offer a friendly, relaxed and professional atmosphere where you can be sure to get the results you need. Using top of the line lighting and camera systems, a cyc wall, and a variety of seamless and hand painted backdrops, our studio is able to offer a wide variety of styles matching any client's needs.


Terms & Conditions.

Due to our competitive pricing, a non-refundable $175 deposit will be due upon booking your shoot. Once this deposit is received, your scheduled session will not be made available to any new clients. Your balance will be due upon arrival to the studio.
Accepted forms of payment are cash, credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay and Venmo. A 3% fee will be added to all credit card payments.

If for any reason you will not be able to make to your scheduled shoot, please let the studio know at least 3 business days prior. If notice is given in time you will be able to reschedule your shoot once for another spot within 60 days, otherwise you will forfeit your payment and any fees due to our Hair and Makeup Artists. Arriving to the scheduled session 20 minutes late or more counts as a 'no-show' and you will be responsible for the full amount of your session. 

For quality control purposes un-edited, high resolution negatives or raw files won't be handed out. Every high resolution image selected by the client will be retouched by the studio to make sure the quality is up to our standards. For more information on this policy and why we care about it, please read this.
